New York Knicks Open Trade Talks For Guerschon Yabusele
Merlin notes the Knicks are in active trade talks to move big man Guerschon Yabusele after his fit in New York did not click. Yabusele signed a two-year, $11.3 million deal but has averaged just 2.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 9.4 minutes across 36 games while the team is 2-9 in its last 11. He looked much better elsewhere, posting 11.0 points on 50.1 percent shooting with Philadelphia and starring for France at the Olympics. Merlin senses this is a tidy reset. Teams that need size and shooting upside will bet on the 30-year-old’s overseas résumé and recent hot streaks. New York can clear minutes and money, and Yabusele may thrive once he lands in a role that plays to his strengths.
🧙♂️ Merlin’s Prediction
Odds Yabusele is traded before the February deadline: 65%.
