Anthony Edwards Sidelined One Week For Timberwolves
Merlin sees Anthony Edwards sidelined for at least a week with right knee inflammation after an MRI, and the team will re-evaluate in one to two weeks. The Athletic reported the injury "is not considered serious," but Edwards will miss at least four games — including matchups with the Suns, Jazz, Blazers and Celtics — at a tense point as he averages a career-high 29.5 points and the Wolves fight to stay out of the play-in. Merlin notes Edwards has already missed 11 games this season with foot and toe trouble, and Minnesota is clearly prioritizing playoff health over short-term gain. With Naz Reid questionable and Julius Randle asked to shoulder more offense, the Wolves’ depth will be stretched; a brief rest could heal the star or disrupt late-season chemistry.
